The snowpack is potentially unstable on the NW-N-NE aspects from 8800-9600' that we traveled on. We observed an ugly snowpack structure (a 12-16" slab above weak, sugary faceted snow) and unstable snowpack test scores. The new crop of surface hoar and some fresh faceted crystals just below the surface will most likely cause problems as they get loaded.
Some collapses in the open areas where no one had traveled previously. None traveled more than about 20 ft/6m.Weather

Snowpack
Shady slopes: HS=60-80cm. Snowpit 9270', 330*, 25* slope, HS 75cm...40cm down produced CT16SC/Q1, ECTP18, PST25/100end. Profile = 0.5-1cm SH standing proud >>> 1-2cm soft ambient temp crust up to ~9400' >>> 1cm small FC >>> 40cm DF, F to P at bottom >>>30cm FC/DH to G with crust near ground in places (test failures at top of this layer).
Solar aspects: about 50-60cm depth, still some SH on surface, thicker crust just below surface and wasn't completely frozen >>>dry FC beneath upper 2-3cm crust
