Cool, mostly overcast day. Low clouds topped out around 6,000ft with other very high thin clouds. No precipitation. At 6,200ft on a ridge, winds were calm with light westerly gusts.
Snowpack
Above 3,200ft, surfaces are recent, dry, storm snow. Depending on elevation, there's 15-25cm of fist hard snow over older, harder layers. There's a sub-surface breakable crust below 4,500ft. Surfaces have been weakening on most slopes, especially in open terrain, away from trees. We found facets on most surfaces. This was capped with surface hoar in open terrain. Starting at 5,500ft at ridgetops, the surface hoar was "chunky" and rime-covered.
At Lanham Lake 4160ft, height of snow 160cm. 12/29 crust ↓23cm. Solstice Crust ↓80cm.
