Quick report
Headed up the southern facing gully around noon. Softening snow on top of a firm crust. No noticeable signs of instability. Snow at the ridge line to the summit was firmer. No noticeable cornice formation. Gully snow softened further on the way down after sitting in the sun. Glissading in the chute was doable but some holes were opening up around rocks. Didn’t envy the skiers trying to slide down from the top.
