Quick report
Put my shovel into snow at 5300ft up gold creek drainage on an ESE aspect, under calm overcast skies. Minimal wind effect was seen in open areas near and at ridge line. No collapsing observed. HS 145cm CT 17, SC on angulated facets below the 1/4 crust at 105cm 1/2 crust found at 95cm late December crust found at 87cm, with appx 10cm layer of mixed ice rounds knife hard crusts and facets to appx 75cm and wet rounds found down to the ground. Ski conditions were very good to about 4K, before having a lovely reunion with some dense cascadian boosh on my way out.
