2/13 on Mt Howard We experienced multiple whoomphs and collapses in valley flats east of Mt Howard at 6100 feet. No whoomphs were experienced once we were clbing the east aspect. HS of 65cm at 6350 feet E aspect. Extreme winds at and above treeline. Snow quality was quickly deteriorating to wind affected around 11am. At 7600 feet east aspect there appeared to be a recent natural avalanche crown. 2/14 on Shelter Ridge Observed lots of wind affected snow. Very large cormices at ridgelines. We found wind slabs at 7100 feet on E aspect overtop weak snow. Wind slab was not reactive to our weight, and no cracking was observed. Around 1.5feet of hard slab over weak snow. Hand shear broke with medium force with “break” shear quality. Some sastrugi observed at these and lower elevations too. Weather started to warm and snow between 6k and 7k became a little it heavier around 12:00. Video is of wind on 2/13.
