Quick report

While we encountered an isolated patch of soft, cold snow on some shaded N aspects, most places we traveled today had experienced spring weather's melting and refreezing. Firm refrozen crusts existed in shaded spots with varying degrees of wet snow on sunny slopes. Ski cuts on S-facing slopes triggered sluffs of wet snow about 3 to 4 inches deep. When we rolled snowballs down steep E-facing slopes, they quickly became pinwheels up to 3 feet in diameter. We could also see cornices hanging over the ridge in many places. Some of these had broken, and the cornice pieces had entrained wet snow as they rolled down the slopes below.
