Quick report
- Cracking
- widespread
Observed buried graupel at about the 6" depth on the way up to the ridge, but didn't see any where the slab broke. Triggered avalanche looked to be a combination of wind and storm loading. It was snowing quite heavily today but snow felt very stable on most aspects. Saw some debris from the days before and got a healthy amount of sluff when skiing down. We traveled cautiously on all avalanche terrain but triggered the avalanche when cutting across the couloir to get behind some rock protection, which was less cautious.
Avalanche
North facing couloir of Lundin Peak. After cutting the cornices, dropped into the North couloir and skied down about 100 ft before triggering a massive slab. Probably 6-7" depth, propagated the entire length of the upper couloir. No one caught.
