Quick report
There was more new snow than I expected, ranging from a few inches to over a foot depending on aspect and elevation. Most was smooth and dry at the start of the day (10pm), with lower elevations softening in the afternoon. The muir snowfield still held dry snow by 2pm; with minimal wind sculpting yet, this skied great. Nisqually chute had already slid by 2ish and was full of heavy, wet snow, avy debris, and rollerball. More northern aspects at lower elevations still held dry snow at 3pm, and I didn’t see any signs of instability on these. Steeper south and west slopes were naturally shedding rollerballs in the afternoon. Surprisingly the flatter, lower elevation areas below pan point still had some dry snow by the afternoon. The weather was clear and calm all day until 3:30 or so, when some sparse clouds rolled in. Excellent skiing.
Avalanche
Multiple D1 to D2 wet slides on steep southern aspects, eg in Nisqually chute. Not sure if they were natural or human-triggered, but they occurred between when I was heading up and coming down (before 2 pm).
