Strong winds and cold temperatures mid day. Winds eased in the afternoon hours. Scattered clouds south of Telluride and mostly cloudy to the north.
Snowpack
A supportable melt-freeze crust and shallow snowpack was observed on south and southwest facing slopes below treeline.Recent winds have effected open slopes below treeline. A thin wind slab (2 inches) on a north facing roll below treeline cracked 30-40 feet with no movement.
