We rode up Salmon La Sac to Gallagher avoiding the shortcut and stuck to the 4x4 trail due to avalanche activity on the way up.

It did snow! We saw the 3 slides and shooting cracks all over the place down lower on the trail. We were very cautious and wary of our terrain selection and line choices today. We rode up the Fortune Creek trail. After seeing 2 snowmobile tracks heading towards the shortcut, we dropped down Chaincase hill to see if there were tracks in case of the big slide thst slides across the trail, and it had not slid yet. We rode up to about 6000' where I dug a pit on SE aspect. There was full cloud cover about snowing close to 1 in per hour up until 2pm. No wind at the time of the pit, but gusts were picking up around 1pm to about 15-20mph. -1C ambient air temp. I probed 250cm and dug a 155cm pit. ECTP19 at about 35cm from the top. I would think that would be at a break in the storm last night. Conditions seem spicy and was pleased to see all other riders today making smart choices in terrain selection.

The first 2 pictures had slid very recently. As we were riding there were shooting cracks up the cut banks next to the road. The 3rd picture with the sled in it, he went to lift his sled and the bank slid into him.
