Quick report

Toured up south Jake’s starting around 7:15am. Expected high enough temps and enough sun for things to soften earlier today. While skinning I came across a few dry patches, Depending on the route you take it’s possible to have to walk across 10-20 ft of dirt even. Booted up the Y chute which is losing coverage quickly and is littered with rocks. Snow was supportable but not softening much. Was not able to top out of the line as there was a choke of 20-30 ft that was completely bare. Riding the top half was borderline survival skiing on refrozen textured snow with plenty of old tracks. Bottom half was a bit better but still too firm for any enjoyable turns. Coverage getting down to a few inches in certain spots getting back down to the road. Was able to ski all the way to the car.
