Quick Observation
-4 broken skies. Ski quality better than expected except for really sun affected slopes. rode dome shoulder and knolls. Dust on crust. Some reactive wind slab on top of a crust to watch out for in the alpine NW aspect. Some significant sloughing on steep pitch ski cuts. Otherwise those crusts seem to be holding things together pretty well, watch out when it warms up. Dug a 150 cm test pit at around 1300 m on steep gladed NE terrain. Got a hard result on compression test down 90 cm on a layer of small facets on top of early March crust. No result on extended compression test. Thick sugary faceted layer from january rains is down 250 at this location it hasn't healed up at all, totally loose sugar about 40 cm thick. Dug a basement to find it, and managed to hit the ground down 530 cm, in this sheltered treeline location.
