Mount Elma to Mount Allan Brooks Traverse
Day started cold with light wind from ENE but warmed to around 0 in the afternoon. Observed surface hoar 3-8mm on areas open to sky view. Some wind affected snow on northerly aspects, with a crust about 10cm thick in places. Still good skiing to be had coming down the north ridge of Brooks. Views were much better than the office.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Heavy, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Warm. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Steep slopes, Open trees. Riding quality was ok.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
