Quick report
Wind loaded and wind affected snow were present. Anywhere from 10-30cm thick slabs on most wind exposed aspects. These were stubborn to crack on test slopes. We dug on south and east aspects at 7400' near the top of Jenny Bowl to look for previously described PWLs. Total snow depth was 120cm. We found a layer 20cm down that was either a density change in the recent snow, perhaps wind slab, or buried near surface facets. This was found on both south and east aspects. This layer produced a sudden planar result at 17 taps in our CT. Neither pit had any propagation during extended column tests. The December rain/melt freeze crust was still present, but nonreactive in test pits. The top boundary of this layer did come off clean when prying out our ECT columns. This broke between the two top ice layers of the December crust conglomerate. We observed no new avalanches, and no cracking, or collapsing. Wind affected snow was present in many locations. We were able to feel strong over weak snow via pole plunge tests on most aspects. Most loading appeared to occur while under a westerly wind.
