Pleasant day in the mountains. The warm temperatures today followed by cooler temperatures tonight should continue to stabilize existing storm slabs. A couple groups experienced several collapses in open meadowed terrain. Likely facets below a 1 cm crust buried 50-60 cm down.

Stayed in mostly sheltered terrain, so did not observe any wind effects. Occasional sun breaks and clouds led to greenhousing of the snow surface, which became damp throughout the day. No precipitation by the time we returned to the trailhead at 1500 hrs.
Snowpack
15 cm new snow was reactive today in hand pits and on shovel tilt tests. A couple groups observed buried surface hoar about 40 cm down that was showing results on compression tests, but was not propagating in ECTs.

In addition to this small storm slab avalanche, we also noted roller balls in steep south-facing terrain at the end of the day. We anticipate that there were probably some wet loose avalanches in steep rocky terrain that got hit by the sun today.
