Quick report
Stayed colder than expected and the new snow came in light, similar to what we've gotten in the last few days and skied great. Climbed to Snow Lake Divide & dug a pit on a SE aspect at ~4500'. HS 270. ~75cm of light fist snow above first notable crust; 4F below. CTH sudden planar down 75 cm at that first notable crust. Finished shoulder taps on remaining column and produced sudden planar results down ~100cm at the top of what we're guessing is the solstice crust matrix. 3 add'l pits in the same area produced similar sudden planar results on one or both of these layers. ECTX (replicated across the three other pits). PST from one of the pits: 30cm on 90cm block; down 100cm at top of solstice crust, propagated cleanly across the entire column.
Avalanche
Observed two natural slides from today: D1 near Mushroom Couloir that appeared to be a storm slab, and a D1+? that came down Bryant Couloir. Heard reports of another natural slide in the vicinity of Bryant from earlier in the afternoon.
