Skied up Flanders and found a relatively unstable snowpack. Heard loud whumpfing on the approach but did not observe any shooting cracks. We dug a pit at 9200ft on a south east asoect and got an ECTP 16 on a weak layer 18cm deep in the snow pack ontop of the faceted pre thanksgiving crust. The slab had a sudden collapse but was a non planar break when sheared off. We stuck to skiing below 30 degrees.
