We observed slide-for-life conditions (bulletproof windslab) on SE-S aspects at mid-elevations (below treeline) in the southern Whitefish range. There was some cracking and a few isolated whumphs in the most developed wind slabs. Pockets of soft snow could be found in sheltered areas and the solar input didn’t seem to have as strong of an effect as we anticipated. Isolated collapsing and cracking in wind drifted snow slabs.
