<p>Enough wind loading to make shallow slabs in the most exposed locations, but generally a non-issue.</p> <p>Upper elevations are shallow consisting of faceted snow sandwiched between wind crusts that are at most a few centimeters thick.</p> <p>Snow depth is about 30” in sheltered locations. The mid-snowdepth crust is still existent but with about a foot of sugary facets resting on top of it, and below. Same story repeats itself here of it being easy to initiate sluffing of weakened snow in steep terrain.</p> <p>Photo shows a hasty pit just below the ridge line on a NW face at 9100’.
