Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Wind was absolutely ripping into the trees and across the slope. Some stripped areas and lots of loaded areas. Fell through the whole snowpack into some holes but also would occasionally punch through the whole upper layer easily into the lower lighter density layer too, just local cracking and collapsing around my feet. Very isolated spots. Road cuts had 2-3’ deep drifts in spots. With a steep enough slope and enough weight this’ll slide Heavy density snow over the lighter density is leading to collapsing around isolated terrain features and also isolated spots with the right amount of wind transported snow.

Winds coming out of the S for most of the afternoon. Heavy snow, ~1.5” per hour as measured on my windshield. Density of recent new snow was above 10%, I’d estimate 12-14%

Snowpack

I did not dig today, however I did not observe any concerning propagation, even cutting the road cuts. However I could see this becoming a slab on slopes steep and consistent enough to have a large release, as the upper slab is pretty cohesive.
