Quick report

Short laps today to see how the snow is holding up in the below tree line, shaded aspects. Though it is all beginning to get tracked out in the easy to access places, good quality snow is still present on the polar and protected aspects. From hand pits and ski pole "soundings", the snow is showing no signs of instabilities, but some basal facets are still present in certain and protected polars. Surface hoar is showing up in meadows and flatter terrain around the area (I also observed this in the June BC two days ago). The biggest hazard out there seems to be collapsing snow near buried bushes and boulders, and variable surface/riding conditions in exposed areas. Have fun out there!
