Traveled up Chicken Knob and skied down into back of Eddington Canyon. Setting the skin track through steep, cliffy terrain around 8200-8500 we experienced quite a bit of cracking and a number of small-medium size collapses. None had enough energy to slide, but was collapsing on the new old/snow interface from before this weeks storm. Slow moving sluff was observed on sections where a more pronounced crust existed under the new snow. At the top of Treasure Mountain 9800, ridgetop winds were strong enough to form a new wind slab layer about 4" thick breaking within the new snow, but also not possessing enough energy to slide.
