The rest of the run we witnessed widespread cracking and remote triggered another small D1 avalanche. They were slow moving and only failing on the and old snow surfaces and/or melt freeze crusts. Winds were strong, gusting upwards of 30 mph mid-day. Wasn’t concerned about burial today, but was concerned about potentially getting injured if caught.
Avalanche
Triggered a shallow hard slab avalanche just off the summit of four pines, on the first pitch. Failed on the graupel layer, and then stepped down to the pre-storm layer. South facing, about 10” crown, D1.
