Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure

Went to have a look at No Name Bowl on the PC Ridgeline, figured this mid elevation, NE facing , protected bowl would have maximum faceting occurring in it the last few weeks and I was not disappointed. Basically the whole snowpack is faceting out in this location, it’s still sum what supportable but by the time it decides to snow it will mostly likely be faceted to the ground interface. It was easy to trigger long running facets sluffs gouging down a foot or so and leaving impressive piles of facets at the bottom. It was almost impossible to get on the slope without sluffing it out. These don’t pose much of a danger but when and if we get a slab on top things are gonna get wild. On the other end of the compass the S facing is a frozen coral reef and stayed that way all day due to cold temperatures and a brisk breeze.
