Quick report
Travelled from the hidden lake summer parking lot (could park 1/4 mile from trail head) and skinned at 4K. Made our way to ski north slopes west of the Triad in the marble creek area. Southern aspects were getting sun affected throughout the day, there was evidence of recent natural wet loose slides happened throughout the day. Shedding from trees and high cliffs also triggered small wet loose. Thin storm slabs from the previous few days on sleep southern aspects were also visible across the hidden lake side. North aspects on the marble creek side were dreamy. Stable 3-6 inches of dry powder on top of a firmish base led to great skiing. Some wind affect higher up on steep rollovers, and evidence of the recent storm snow not bonded to the crust below. But overall quite stable and fun.
Avalanche
Trigger very small slab on north facing roll over at 5,700 feet that was probably 2-4 square feet and didn’t entrain or propagate. Likely from storm or wind that didn’t bond to crust below. Triggered D1 wet loose slide on S-SW face at 5,400 feet (connector between hidden lakes summer trail and marble creek circuit). Between 3-4 PM. Picked up some mass as it slid but stopped at the bottom of the slope.
