Cold day that started partly cloudy, becoming overcast by early afternoon.

The facets below dense wind drifts on east-facing slopes remain weak and soft. The northerly slopes below treeline that we encountered don't have a slab yet, but the recent storm snow will add to the accumulated volume of snow above the fragile interface buried several inches deep.
