Quick report

Quick pit observation - 8116’ East Aspect - 28F - Calm wind - light snowfall . Total HS of 220cm - location was 150’ below Elkhorn crest. Dug down approximately 120cm. Observed a right side up snowpack ranging from fist hardness at the top progressively to pencil hardness at the base of my pit. Probing further I could feel less resistance in the bottom 20cm of the snowpack. Still suspect a persistent weak layer near the bottom of the snowpack. I observed three small melt/freeze layers between the changes in hardness. I did not do a CT or ECT. No observed signs of recent instability. Roughly 10 cm of new snow on the surface available for possible wind transport.
