Quick report
Late morn to mid-afternoon tour from Timberline to lower Hogsback then reversed route ski over to Illumination Saddle and out via Zigzag Glacier to Silcox. Ocean-like cloud cover everywhere below Timberline elevation for most of the tour, lessening at the end on east side. Fairly warm bluebird day w very little wind above Timberline. Heard a lot of rock/rimefall off Steel Cliff and saw some off Castle Crags too. Skins sufficient til 9200’ish, then crampons became helpful despite decent new snow probably bc of strong westerly winds w recent storm. Upper Hogsback routes were yet to be re-tracked tho lower tracks at least over to Hot Rocks (hard to tell if they went above to Old Chute, if so not seeming to punch through yet). Saw selective, non-triggering tracks both below lower West Crater rim and White River Headwall as they were laid by boarder and pups. Including pic of Reid too. Noticed no evidence of new avys/instabilities.
