Quick report

Skiing 5 pm - 8 pm on 12/28 in BCC, snow falling but rate was <1 in/hr at all times. Winds calm at the start (<10 mph) rising to maybe 20 mph by the end. Generally found a top layer of 4-6 in new, low-density snow at 9000 ft.

Skiing in SW/W-facing, low angle, untracked trees between 8500 and 9500 ft, we did not get any cracking or collapsing. Skiing and skinning on those aspects, I didn't notice any instabilities in the snow while breaking trail or skiing. Passing the run between short swing and pp3, there was obvious wind loading and cornice formation into the N/NE aspects. looked scary.

I came across the attached pit at 9400 ft, SW aspect. I don't see any ob uploaded by the digger, so I thought I'd upload it even though it's not the most informative pic.
