Quick report
Dug a pit on a S/SE facing slope at 8800'. Overall saw 120cm of right side up snowpack, consistent throughout. Fresh powder has consolidated under strong radiation and high temps into a soft wet layer 10-15cm deep. The new snow fell on top of a 5cm sun crust that had begun to form. Some evidence of the old basal facets we started the season with at the very bottom, but they clump together nicely now. Compression test negative.
