Zoa, Friday Dec 23rd: ECTN 15. HS 170. North facing slopes ~ 20 degrees, 1800 meters, ~40cm loose storm snow not yet bonded to old interface - sloughing easily. ECT initiated on weak rounding facets approx 60cm deep - likely resulting from last week's extended cold spell - but no propagation. Beneath this snow pack seems right side up, with the early November ice crust still detectable but nonreactive. No other signs of instability. TL & BTL skiing very well indeed.
