Mostly Clear in the pass for the majority of the day, clouds stayed lower in elevation near Portage and lower elevations of the pass. No precipitation, calm winds, and mild temps from 22-25F.
Snowpack
Snowpack was thin at parking lot (828') at about 30cm (1 ft), wet and refrozen with a solid crusty surface. Crusty surface began to soften a little bit around 1,500'. Two prominent Melt Freeze Crust (MFC) layers, with a softer layer sandwiched between were very noticeable in all ski pole test from trailhead all the way until 2,500'. Above 2,500' the lower MFC layer was buried deeper than my ski pole probes. Surface snow above 2,500' was over 45cm (1.5Ft) deep, not wind effected at all, and very light, made for great ski quality.
