Quick report

Temperatures started warm, and increased significantly throughout the day (40 degF at the top of the pass in the afternoon). All aspects below  9000' became wet in the top 2-5" depending on aspect. Snow surfaces transitioned to sticky, suction garbage fairly quickly. Recent snow was definitely transitioning from dry to wet below 9k. Large amount of triggered roller balls and pinwheels by the afternoon on all aspects. No large wet loose avalanches observed. Recent snow was all dense wind-packed snow in the AM, with a slight crust on steep southerlies below 8500'. 

More warm temperatures forecasted in the coming days . Overnight temperatures may not drop below freezing at some elevation bands and will be worth monitoring. 

Snowpack

Dug on a similiar aspect/elevation to the avalanche triggered in nearby Mosquito creek 3 days ago to investigate any layers of concern.

9050' NE aspect HS: 300cm ECTX No propagation in the top meter (3') of the snowpack and right side up. The column sheared off planar using a shovel with hard resistance down 70cm (28"). This matches a similiar depth to the avalanche in Mosquito creek. The layer was composed of preserved stellars (decomposing), graupel, and rimed crystals.  

Otherwise a stable snowpack in this location. No significant hardness changes or crusts on north aspects yet in the top meter of the snowpack if we go through any wet avalanche cycles. W-S-E aspects are a different story.
