Granite Canyon

We found the storm snow easy to trigger, in some places as deep as the old/new interface not over 24 hours old (~10 inches deep), and in others, slightly shallower mid-storm weaknesses (~3-4 inches). Either way. new snow remains reactive to triggering and the crusts/facets buried in the last week of March have the setup of a persistent problem. These instabilities may not last long but they are absolutely worth taking into account and treating as a persistent problem for the time being while solar input and air temperatures are in flux.  Noted a handful of wet, loose avalanches off of Pyramid and the lower elevation terrain surrounding Granite Canyon. More avalanches like this will occur tomorrow and spread across other aspects and elevations with an increase in temps by around 5-10 degrees.
