Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Toured from Lake Mary TH up to around 10k' treed slopes above TJ Lake, utilizing low-angle terrain the whole way. Weather started mostly cloudy but cleared up quite a bit and ended up pretty warm. No wind. Surface snow varied from nice medium-dense powder to wind-thickened powder up high with wind crusts in exposed spots. We even encountered some sun crusts around 9500' in flat areas and, later in the day, some warmed gloppy snow. We experienced one flat slope collapse in a small depression. Kicked some steep rollovers and couldn't get anything to move otherwise. Lake Mary is frozen but some surface ice was getting soft in the afternoon. Dug a pit at 9974' on a wind-exposed N-facing slope. HS=197cm. From the surface down: 197-140 1F wind-compacted 140-85 4F with some 1F layers 85 -65 F+ facets 65-45 1F 45-0 F facets
