Stevens Peak

I went to Stevens Peak to look at PWLs on NE aspects around 9000'. At the near tree line spot below a ridge where I dug a pit, the snowpack was 260 cms deep and the crusts and PWLs were at 160 cms. The slab on top of the crusts was mostly 1 Finger hard. I did a Deep Tap test and got DT29 on rounding facets between crusts, just below the uppermost crust. These rounding facets were not particularly loose when I investigated them, 

Elsewhere on Stevens the snow was transitioning and glopping. I observed evidence of few previous avalanches in the area. There was surface hoar in shaded lower elevation spots and a few areas of it at higher elevations as well.
