Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Tried heading up the north ridge of Goat Peak and ran into unsupportive/transitioning snow NTL/ATL. I ended up turning around early (4.2k’~4.3k’) due to the fact that the ridge was narrowing, the snowpack was shallow (6”) and consolidating further up (3”-6” soft slab), plus the runout was poor (a lot of unsupported slopes over low coverage brush/trees). Snowpack BTL was transitioning as well, but was lower coverage and the terrain traps were easier to mitigate. Streams were running, so I avoided the drainages.

Avalanche

D1 wet loose debris was present on north facing aspects at various points along the ridge. The triggers were unclear.
