Quick report

Massive destruction from last week's rain was evident in many areas. We found 1-4" of fresh snow from Saturday depending on elevation and wind effect. Protected north facing skied well. On steep S aspects, the fresh snow was easily managed and the surface underneath was edgeable at 10 am. Crusts at least 4" thick under the fresh snow kept the lower snowpack locked up. There are still a lot of very large cornices and hanging chunks of snow ready to glide off. The day felt quite hot. I wouldn't rule out the odd wind slab in the last few days' snow in high alpine terrain throughout the zone.

Avalanche

Small size 0.5 wind/storm slabs triggered in isolated loaded features. Similar wet loose on steep solar. Natural wet loose to size 1.5 in steep solar terrain. Large (size 2-3+) older wet slab and glide avalanches left many debris piles in the valleys and benches.
