Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Extremely strong winds ran W (down valley) in the morning, much higher than predicted by the zone forecast. At least 30mph and possibly up to 40. Probably due to venturi effect in in the valley. No new snow but plenty of wind transport. Some small fresh wind slabs were observed and plenty of old healed slabs. (Other than the noted avalanche observation) Great skiing conditions for the most part, with enough fresh snow to enjoy some steep north facing slopes and couloirs as well as plenty of variable and wind effected snow.
