Quick report

Cracking
specific

(Apologies I see no “Route” field in Avy app, at least not iPhone SE 3rd Gen, current iOS): Departed Timberline 730, ascended Storm’n Norman Uphill Access track (then outside ski area) to 7800’ high point 1030, descended varied gullies to 5400’ low point in Lil ZZ Gully, exited and reascended safe terrain just east of gully to 7K’ and then descended near boundary back to Timberline 1515. Clarity went from Bluebird to 10K+ whiteout to 7.5Kish+ whiteout back to Bluebird. Easterlies wind went from 15-25 to 30-40 w maybe 40-50 gusts N/ATL (BTL was calmer). Lots of shooting cracks. tho specific to wind pillows and seams. Two small remote-triggered wind slabs. Some large cracks.

Avalanche

Mostly-intentionally triggered (given prior obs on similar terrain + clearly connected loaded snow…just wasn’t sure would trigger from below) D1.5/R.Highish west-facing steep gully wall wind slab from below (from close to low angle gully fall line). Propagated visible length of wall) w steepest portion of crown estimated to be about 1’ deep.
