Quick report
Toured in Bishop's Big Backyard from 8,200-10,400' with the goal of keeping terrain use 30* or less . 2 hours to ascend 1000' of moraine in deep snow/bushes was the crux of the day. Localized cracking and collapsing due to bushes, not snowpack structure. Wind affect up high but skied well mid-slope. Generally 1 meter of coverage everywhere from the road and up. Dug a pit at 10.2k to observe structure. Boot pen was crotch deep when stepping out of skis. Large banners visible on Mt. Locke. See attached photos for details. Early season coverage was the greatest hazard of the day.
