Snowpack
- Instability Comment
-
Dug a pit at about 8,000 feet in a southern aspect meadow and, as expected, found a fairly deep (~12'') layer of large-facet ground hoar. The middle of the snowpack had a thin (rain?) crust that doesn't tend to break through while touring but fails on a decent.

Roughly 1.5 feet of new, moderately dense snowpack over the last 24 hours.
