I observed two avalanches in Shumway Canyon(s), seen from the Maple Rise Area, on Wednesday. The first probably occurred over the weekend (3-30/31). It involved wind drifted storm snow and was around 400' wide, running ~800'. The second probably happened on Tuesday midday or afternoon. It's a wet avalanche that started as a wet sluff but pulled out a wet slab lower in it's path.
