Quick report

Red Flags
Recent Avalanches, Rapid Warming

Solar warming has cooked the snow pack under clouds like a microwave. Moderate danger of wet slides at the highest elevations and all aspects. Light Southwest winds and cloud cover cooled things off a bit but only on the surface. The slide in the first pic happened in the afternoon heat. Things should be quite stable if temps get cold enough tonight and any new snow should bond well with rounds on the snow surface. Something to keep in mind during the thaw is tree wells. Weak underlying snow layers and melting around branches make these terrain traps particularly ready to suck you in.
