Quick report

Spent the day climbing around on the east face of Mt. Willard. Left Hand Monkey Wrench, Upper Hitchcock, & East Slabs-Right. We observed ~25cm of new in an overall HS of 30cm. Drifting was widespread with some larger drifts averaging around 60cm. Winds were strong out of the N-NW, with extreme gusts (greater than 38mph). Air Temp varied from -10c to -15c throughout the day. No cohesive slabs were noted in the drifting (only small cracking around boots, no shooting cracks); however, in specific protected lee areas the beginnings of slab formation was noted with east to moderate results in hand sheers on slopes over 35 degrees slope angle.
