Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
Skied up to "John" from the Devils Creek Trail head. Right above treeline there were some whumps and collapsing of the snowpack. It collapsed less than a few inches. It was isolated and on a shallow aspect on a ridge. We skinned up to a peak at 4675 ft and went down on on mellow (<25°) terrain. Snow was wind packed but fairly soft. Made for excellent skiing!
