“Windy Ridge” lived up to its name today! But once I dropped into the trees on the north aspect, it was mostly wind protected. There were about 10 cm of new snow on top of a thin crust. Total snow depth was just under meter and a half. I dug a hasty pit and, as mentioned, there were 10 cm of new snow, which was fist hardness on top of a significant crust. Below the crust, the snow was finger+ hardness down to another crust at 35 to 40 cm from the surface. The snow below this crust was one finger hardness down to the final crust above the rotten snow from October and November.
