Multiple whumphs on varying aspects once above tree line in Silverstar basin. Investigated with a pit, which produced the following test results on the new snow interface: CT7 SC x2 ECTP12 Multiple whumphs observed headed up toward Burgundy around 6700 ft, otherwise nothing of note.

Snowing hard when we left the trailhead at 5PM. Rain line at 2670 driving toward Mazama
Snowpack
Surface is fresh stellars. About 35cm new snow sits atop a crust in a F+ slab. Below the crust is well frozen rain affected snow. Snowpack is >3m @ 6700ft.
Avalanche
Avalanche in the new snow which released in the cliffs of Juneau Tower and ran almost to trim line. Other (less) recent avalanches were old cornice fall.
