Went for a tour towards tamarack examining multiple aspects. Snow was being transported via a strong and steady SW wind throughout the duration of the tour. Wind effect was observed on all aspects including stubborn wind slab development on leeward slopes. A wind skin to 1-4 inch soft wind consolidated snow was found considerably far from ridge lines on northerly slopes but did not propagate. Bellow the soft slab was unconsolidated snow; this mild but widespread strong over weak development caught my attention. Cornice development and subsequent failure was prevalent. Higher elevation snowpacks are more than adequate to support suspect tree wells, especially as we enter the second half of this cycle.
