Quick report

Went out with the intention of climbing all the way to Muir, found proper death crust just short of Pan Point, hiked a little further up to evaluate the snow up high and decided to call it and ride down low. Variable near tree line, mostly pow/wind buff below. Edith basin was pretty decent! Low angle laps there seem to be the move right now if you’re in it for the ride. Observed no real signs of upper snowpack instability where we were traveling (pretty exclusively low angle), but you could see a few older natural slides on SE aspects, up to maybe D3 in size.

Avalanche

Older deep slabs avies (D2-3) observed on SE aspects up high. Didn’t observe anything pop today.
